Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough

1 sheet refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade pizza dough)

Alternative: Crescent roll dough or puff pastry

For the Filling

1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup turkey pepperoni slices (or any preferred toppings: bell peppers, mushrooms, spinach, etc.)

1/4 tsp dried oregano

1/4 tsp garlic powder

For Brushing

2 tbsp melted butter

1/4 tsp dried parsley (optional)

1 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven or Air Fryer

    • Oven: Preheat to 425°F (220°C)

    • Air Fryer: Preheat to 375°F (190°C)

  2. Roll Out Dough

    • On a lightly floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick.

    • Cut into 6–8 squares or rectangles, depending on your preferred pocket size.

  3. Add Sauce & Toppings

    • Spoon a small amount of sauce into the center of each piece.

    • Add cheese, turkey pepperoni, and any additional toppings.

    • Sprinkle with oregano and garlic powder.

  4. Fold and Seal

    • Fold each square into a triangle or rectangle.

    • Seal edges with a fork. Dab edges with water if needed to seal tightly.

  5. Bake or Air Fry

    • Oven: Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden brown.

    • Air Fryer: Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  6. Add Finishing Touch

    • Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with parsley and Parmesan, if using.

  7. Cool and Serve

    • Let cool for 5 minutes before serving to avoid burning your mouth on the cheese.

Notes

  • Make-Ahead Tip: Assemble and freeze uncooked pizza pockets for quick meals later. Just bake from frozen — add 2–3 extra minutes to cook time.

  • Dough Tips: If using crescent rolls or puff pastry, reduce baking time by 1–2 minutes and watch closely to prevent overbrowning.

  • Cheese Swaps: Mozzarella works best, but cheddar, provolone, or a blend adds extra flavor.

  • Topping Options: Customize with cooked sausage, sautéed onions, mushrooms, or roasted veggies.
