A soft, sweet, melt-in-your-mouth candy that’s perfect for weddings, baby showers, holidays, and special celebrations. These colorful homemade mints are simple to prepare, require no baking, and add a charming touch to any dessert table.

Ingredients

Scale

4 ounces (113 g) full-fat cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons (28 g) unsalted butter, softened
4 to cups (480540 g) powdered sugar, sifted
½ teaspoon peppermint extract (or other extract of choice)
Gel food coloring (optional)
¼ cup (30 g) cornstarch or additional powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.

  • Mix in peppermint extract until fully combined.

  • Gradually add 4 cups (480 g) powdered sugar, mixing until a soft dough forms. Add up to ½ cup (60 g) more if needed to reduce stickiness.

  • Divide dough and knead in gel food coloring as desired.

  • Dust hands with cornstarch or powdered sugar and roll dough into small balls. Press with a fork or shape using molds.

  • Place mints on parchment-lined baking sheets and allow to dry at room temperature for 4–24 hours until a light crust forms.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Freeze for up to 2 months. Bring to room temperature before serving for the best texture.
